FLY THROUGH AND ANIMATIONS

FOLLY
THE FOLLY IS A HYBRID BETWEEN BUILT AND NATURAL FORM. FROM WITHIN THE ELEVATOR, STUDENTS AND THE DEAN WITNESS THE DECOMPOSING SCHOOL GIVE A SECOND LIFE TO THE ARID LANDSCAPE.

BRIDGE
STUDENTS ARE FORCED INTO AN INTERACTION UPON WAITING FOR THE BRIDGE TO CONNECT THEIR PRIVATE HOUSING TO THE COLLABORATIVE SCHOOL. THIS LEADS TO A MUTUAL INSPIRATION THAT EXPANDS ON THE STUDENTS' IDEAS ON HABITATION RELATIONSHIPS.

HOUSING
THE CONSTANTLY CHANGING VIEWS CREATED BY ROTATIONAL MOVEMENTS THROUGH OUT THE DAY AND NIGHT ALLOW THE STUDENTS TO GAIN NEW PERSPECTIVES ON THEIR INTERACTION WITH THE SURROUNDING ENVIRONMENT.

NOTE
THE COMPUTOR LABORATORIES, RESEARCH OFFICE AND MEETING AREAS ARE NOT SHOWN IN THE FLY THOUGH. THEY ARE AS DETAILED IN CONCEPT SKETCHES AND ARE ALSO INDICATED ON THE LUMION ENVIRONMENT DOWNLOAD.

Concept Sketches

I've been meaning to scan these in for a while. A few sketches of the school based off Herzog and de Meuron's House for a New Media Collector.
Initial concepts are on the left while a refined version that I will be continuing on with is on the right, over layed on the original floor plan.

Draft Lumion

A whole lot of shots from a first proper play with Lumion. Still needs plenty of work and figuring out how certain spaces will be utilised.

Bridge Animation

Finaly got Lumion's animation to work how I needed it. Also decided it was time to try and learn 3DS. Came up with this draft of my bridge.

Moving Component Test

I'm hoping to make my entire bridge the moving component, acting as a telescopic extension from the school. Still playing around with the actual animation effect.
